Profile of Artist Li
Mingjiu
Li Ming Jiu,
nicknamed Changbai Man, Mountain Walker, the master of the
Bieshouwoshan Hall, Han nationality, from Jilin Province, was born in
July, 1939. He was admitted into Fine Art Dept. of Harbin Art
Institute, specializing in Chinese traditional painting and starting
to publish his works. He graduated from that institute in 1964 and
then worked as painter and editor in newspaper and magazine agencies.
In 1978 he was engaged in art education and since then he has taught
in the Art Dept. in Hebei Teachers’ University.
He is now a member
of Chinese Fine Art Association, vice-chairman of Hebei Branch of that
association, vice-president of Hebei Landscapes Association, a member
of Hebei Political Consultative Committee, a professor and the dean of
Art Dept. in the Hebei Teachers’ University. He is entitled to the
government special allowances of the State Council.
His published Selected Paintings by
Li Ming Jiu. He is included in Art Thesaurus, Glossary of Fine
Artists, Dictionary of Modern Chinese Traditional Painters, Annals of
Chinese Fine Art, and Catalogue of Chinese Contemporary Fine Artists.
