Profile of Artist Yi Hongbin
Yi Hong Bin, from
Changsha in Hunan Province, pen-named Mi Luo, Chang Sha. He is the
master of Zhong Zhi Xu Painting House.
He is a member of China’s
Aesthetics Society, Chinese Fine Artists Association, Chinese
Calligraphers and Painters Association, Chinese Writers Association,
Chinese Poetry Association, an advisor of China’s Calligraphy and
Painting Academy. He developed from childhood a keen interest in
literature and art, especially in painting. While he worked as a
journalist after graduation from university, he also devoted himself
to research and writing of aesthetic and literary theory, and to
composition of novels, prose, poems, and Chinese traditional painting.
He has published a series of scholarly and critical articles and
literary works in various publications, such as Venus, Human Brain,
and Yardstick; Sound Spreads Far at the Summit; Serene Landscape;
Between the Secular and the Divinity; Deep Oceans, etc. So far he has
published such aesthetic and literary books as Selected Paintings by
Yi Hong Bin, On Aesthetics, Revelations of Venus; A Bit of History, A
Bit of Attachment; A World for Two, Mystery of Strange Partners, etc.
Other books and articles have won various awards.
He is now the president of
Jilin Daily Agency and its Calligraphy and Painting School, director
of Chinese National Society of Journalists, vise-chairman of the
Institute of Chinese Newspaper Supplements, chairman of Jilin
Journalists Association, vice-chairman of Jilin Expert Association and
Writers Association as well as Jilin Literature Association. He is
entitled to government special allowances of the State Council,
labeled as National Expert of Outstanding Contribution. His brief
